What Makes Albus Dumbledore Unique?

You have seen, heard and read about Albus Dumbledore during the Harry Potter films. Many people of the Harry Potter fandom are fans of Headmaster Albus Dumbledore. Why is that? What makes Albus Dumbledore a lovable character that is loved by so many? There’s so many characters within the Harry Potter films that could be loved by fans. Now that the new movie Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is coming out soon, Albus Dumbledore will be loved once again by many people.
Magic
Albus Dumbledore could do a lot of magic in the Harry Potter books or even in the films. Albus is able to do wandless and non-verbal spells! Those types of magic are not easy to do and it could give the wizard and witch somewhat consequences if they attempt to do it. He was able to invent spells and objects: the deluminator and the talking patronus charm for messages. Albus knows that if someone is in trouble, he’ll be able to use magic when he is able to.
Hogwarts
Before becoming Headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore was a teacher and he taught Defense Against the Dark Arts along with Transfiguration. He was one of the best teachers at Hogwarts and he was capable of teaching two different classes. Like many of the students, Albus attended Hogwarts as a student himself and was sorted into Gryffindor. He became a prefect and Head Boy for Gryffindor, he became friends with: Nicolas Flamel and Bathilda Bagshot. Albus Dumbledore worked hard as a student, teacher and headmaster.
Connections
Throughout his life until his death in 1997, Albus Dumbledore has powerful connections. He was able to befriend: Nicolas Flamel, Bathilda Bagshot, Gellert Grindelwald, Newt Scamander, and even Tom Riddle himself. However there were two Wizards that became evil and went behind Albus’s back and they were: Gellert Grindelwald and Tom Riddle. Albus met Grindelwald when they were kids and he met Tom when he was in the orphanage. Not everyone that Albus meets were good, Albus tries to help people on what he can.
Protection
Albus tries to protect the people that he cares about and the students at Hogwarts. He protects: Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter, Nicolas Flamel, and even Severus Snape. Albus knew something was going on with young Draco during his sixth year and he makes a backup plan with Severus if something goes wrong with Draco’s mission. That night, no one knew that Albus was protecting Draco Malfoy except Severus. When Severus Snape needed help after learning about the prophecy, Albus tried to help Harry Potter’s parents and moved them to Godric Hollow. However they were found and killed by Lord Voldemort but their young son: Harry Potter lives.
Family
Albus has a difficult past as his mother died and his father was sent to Azkaban. Many people knew that Albus has an older brother and younger sister during the Harry Potter era. His brother, Aberforth works at the Hog’s Head Inn but his sister, Ariana was killed during the fight against Grindelwald. The duel devastated both Aberforth and Albus as Grindelwald fled soon right after. After Albus Dumbledore’s death in 1997, the surviving member of the Dumbledore family is Aberforth.
Albus Dumbledore’s past, present and future has been a difficult and long working journey. In the end, he became a powerful wizard and even though he wasn’t able to defeat Voldemort, he was able to weaken him so that Harry Potter could defeat him. It was tough when Grindelwald became evil as Albus has been in love with him since they were kids. Albus befriended many Wizards and Witches, he was a popular teacher and a good Headmaster within Hogwarts. In so many ways, Albus Dumbledore is unique and somewhat different than the other loveable characters of Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter.
